1. Gown Preservation As soon as possible, send your dress in to be cleaned and preserved to minimize the chances of permanent damage.
2. Social Security Card Name Change This must be done after the ceremony. Fill out the application and present one or more records that identify you by your old and new name. Birth certificates will not work. You can use a driver's license, passport, marriage license, health insurance card, military records, insurance policy, school ID card, or an adoption record. 3. Driver's License Name Change To change your Iowa's driver's license to your new name, go to the Driver's License station in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (319-377-6461; Kmart Plaza East, Collins Road NE) or the Department of Transportation Office inside of Eastdale Plaza in Iowa City, Iowa (319-338-5294; 1700 S. First Avenue). All that you need to take is your current driver's license and your signed marriage license. There is a minimal fee for the change. You will have your picture taken again and will receive a new license while you wait.
